WHO ARE WE?


Cagdas and Victoria are business partners, friends, and colleagues who met over 10 years ago whilst both co-leading a tour together across Turkey. That tour culminated in the commemoration of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli almost 100 years ago. Although from vastly different continents and cultures they discovered a shared love of history, politics, travel, philosophy, and above all food. Yes most importantly they discovered they were both hedonistic and hard-working but hippies at heart and a lifelong friendship were to start. AVASAIL is a happy collaboration and in many ways is symbolic of the strong relationship shared today between Turkey and New Zealand and their enduring memories of that tragic party of history.

They lead this tour together again for many years with the most memorable being managing to organize successfully the tour that attended the dawn service for the 100-year anniversary commemoration of that fateful day. It was moving and challenging to say the least, but a once in a lifetime opportunity that will never be forgotten.

Over the years they discussed their dreams of starting a company doing what they are most passionate about. Hence, with 25 plus years leading tours all over Europe, Scandinavia, Greece, Turkey, Russia, The Balkans, New Zealand, and other parts of the world with Cagdas’s creativity and numerous contacts in Turkey and Victoria’s drive and determination, and passion in buckets from both of them Ava Sail was born.
